The Benefits of a Televisit Over an In-Person Office Visit

A televisit is a visit that takes place over an internet connection through a computer, tablet, or cellphone. This means you will be able to see and talk with your provider in real-time, instead of coming down to our center for an in-person office visit. There are so many benefits to this option which include:

  • No transportation time or cost
  • No need to take time off from work
  • No need to find child or elderly care
  • No time in the waiting room
  • Less chance of catching an illness
  • BETTER HEALTH

When you are able to see your provider as often as you need, without the challenges of getting to and from the doctor’s office, you can manage your health better!

How Do I Make a Televisit Appointment?

Appointments can be made by calling (530) 246-5883. When you call in to make an appointment, ask about our televisit options. Our staff members will give you all the information you need to make your first televisit easy!

Breast & Cervical Cancer Screening

A pap smear is used to catch changes in your cells before they become cervical cancer. A mammogram is an X-ray of the breast that checks for signs of breast cancer.

  • Pap smears every 3 years for women ages 21-29.
  • Pap and HPV testing every 5 years for women ages 30-64.
  • If you are over 50 you should have a mammogram every 2 years.

How can I get screened for Cervical Cancer?

Shasta Community Health Center has a women’s health clinic with female clinicians who can give you a pap smear. Appointments are available Monday through Thursday. Call (530) 246-5710 to schedule a visit. Most insurances cover this for free.

How can I get screened for Breast Cancer?

MD Imaging is our local breast cancer screening provider. If you have been to MDI before, you can simply call to schedule your mammogram without an order from us. Call (530) 243-1297 to make your appointment. New to MDI? Talk with your doctor to get started.
