Do you want to stay connected with the organizations and services in the Redding community?
Community Connects is for you! Each month the Shasta Public Libraries and Shasta Community Health Center partner to host local organizations and presenters. These presentations will connect you with the “how to” and “who” on a certain topic or community resource.
MAY PRESENTATION: Making the Most of Cooking with Kids
Join a UC Cal Fresh Nutrition Educator to learn ways to make meal time more fun! Discover how adults and children can work together to make and enjoy healthy meals. All ages are welcome to participate in this hands on workshop.

Youth Cooking Day Camp
This event is offered in partnership with the Redding Library as a part of their Summer Reading Program. It is a hands on camp and will teach youth how to prepare healthy meals and snacks from a mix of different cultures. Participants will compete on teams to research, prepare, and present recipes.
Here are some of the details in a nutshell:
- Learn about recipes from around the world.
- Work on teams to prepare delicious dishes.
- Be entered to win daily raffle prizes and grand prize drawing at the end of the week.
- Free apron for all youth who attend.
