§        Wash Away Homelessness – Car wash fund-raiser to support SCHC’s HOPE program – Sunday, August 9^th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Holiday Market on Placer and Buenaventura.

§        Shasta Community Health Center Tours and Information – Call 246-5890 for days and times convenient for you.

Due to a recent change in state law, the Department of Health Care Services will no longer pay for some Medi-Cal benefits for most adults ages 21 and older.  This change of law goes into effect on July 1, 2009.   Availability of the following  Medi-Cal benefits has changed for adults: dental services, acupuncture services, podiatric services, psychology services, and incontinence creams and washes.  All other Medi-Cal services will remain unchanged at this time.

Redding Rancheria awards Shasta Community Health Center’s HOPE program Grant for their dedication towards helping the homeless in Shasta County.

More than 370 community members gathered earlier this month to help Redding Rancheria make 2009 a Year to Remember during the organization’s annual fundraiser dinner on Saturday, March 7. (more…)

The Shasta County Public Health Advisory Board has established an annual Excellence in Public Health Awards program. Public Health can be thought of as ‘organized community efforts that prevent disease and promote health.’ This program provides awards to those community members who have gone the extra mile to promote an area of public health.
