Mr. Germano has been the CEO of SCHC since 1992 and has over 27 years of healthcare management experience.  He holds a Master’s degree in Health Care Administration and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.  Mr. Germano has overseen expansion of the health center over the last 20 years, with particularly extensive growth during the last 10 years.  Mr. Germano oversees care to 40,000 unduplicated patients, providing over 130,000 visits a year in a multi-specialty type practice that include mental health and dental. Over 92% of patients served live below the federal poverty line. Mr. Germano has helped lead two very successful major capital campaigns resulting in over $7.0 million in gifts and grants for capital expansion needs of the Health Center.  

Mr. Germano is past Board President of the California Primary Care Association, past Chair of the Shasta County Public Health Advisory Board, and past-Chair of Golden Umbrella and Senior Nutrition Centers (CHW affiliates) in Redding, CA. Mr. Germano is also past Chair and current member of the Health Alliance of Northern California (HANC) that represents Federally Qualified Health Centers in this region with its members working with hospitals and medical groups in creating positive community health systems changes in our region. Beginning in 2009 Mr. Germano was selected to the Board of the California Endowment, a $3+ billion statewide healthcare foundation dedicated to improving the health and well being of all Californians.
